Wanted to get myself some seat covers for my TRD off road and it seemed like EKR was a solid bet. I originally wanted to go with Clazzio but they have yet to release covers for the 6th gen. I ordered custom EKR covers, because I did not want the piping down the side. They took about two weeks to arrive and seemed like they were well made.
I started with the headrest and this is where I changed my mind. The only possible way to fit the headrest inside the cover was to squeeze and deform the foam, and even after doing so the cover was basically busting at the seams. Not sure if it is because they were custom or what, but just way too tight for the actual headrest. After taking out the headrest from the cover it was left with some visible creasing and folding, which thankfully went away with a little heat and time.
If anyone has any tips for getting the cover on without deforming the foam, that would be greatly appreciated. I tried using heat to soften the headrest cover but still had no luck. I understand seat covers need to be snug intially but tight to the point of deforming and creasing the foam doesn't seem correct to me. Anyways, just wanted to share my experience with EKR, I don't think I will be keeping them and I think I will end up waiting for the Clazzio covers, assuming those will come out soon.
