I have an electric cooler that we frequently take camping or out in the beach a few days in a row. Typically I plug it in each night to charge back and be ready for the next day. But I’m wondering if a 100w monocrystalline can replace nightly charging by keeping it topped off day.

Has anyone done this on their 4R? I landed on a mono panel in case I mount it under the crossbars as the slight shading by the bars won’t affect efficiency as greatly as it would a poly panel.

I can run the wire management inside and use an XT60 adapter to connect right to my cooler.

Thoughts?

Does the cooler have a built-in battery and charge controller for a solar panel?

Yes. It’s one of Anker’s Everfrost coolers and the removable battery even has an xt60 port just for solar input.
