The OEM crossbars are kind of crap, in my opinion. All that extra plastic on each side takes away usable width and means if you mount anything like a kayak or bike rack, it has to go even farther in toward the center and makes loading from the side that much harder, especially if you're short or have a lift. If you use your crossbars for anything regularly I'd strongly recommend spending slightly more and getting bars from Yakima, Thule, or Rhino Rack. Just my two cents as someone who straps stuff to my roof multiple times a week.

funnily enough, ive never used a roof rack in my life and purely like how they look aesthetically
