I’ll be picking up my G6 limited next week. I’ve already ordered all of the parts to chrome delete, black front valance, rear bumper cover, roof rails, grill, badges. I’m debating on what to do with the rims and tires and also maybe a lift? Mine is coming from port with nitto ridge grapplers.

I’m new to this so I could really use some help. I’m overwhelmed. I did call customoffsets today and they recommended 17x8.5 Matte Black Wheel Black Rhino Guard 6x5.5 0 offset and 265/70R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T All Terrain 265/70/17 Tires. They claimed 0 offset wouldn’t rub but even the black rhino website states they only recommend 25 or 35 offset. I also may feel like 18s would be better. Then I’m overwhelmed with tires. Also considering powder coating the stock rims black. I want a tough look but those are going to be heavy. Also a lift. With the limited suspension being AVS is there harm with the Wescott pre collar lift putting tension on the spring? Also considering the RC fender flares?

I really need expert help. I’m a single mom and I’ve worked my butt off and this is my gift to myself, I don’t want to be extra, but I don’t know what I’m doing and I also don’t want to “harm” my car. But I do want a “tough” look. I would have gone with a sport premium but I wanted dual climate and other little creature comforts…and anything above just seemed unnecessary. I used to have a 2021 limited nightshade and it was totaled when I got hit by a drunk driver so I’m super excited to be back in the 4runner fam.

please help! Thoughts, opinions, ideas would be appreciated! You folks know your stuff and feedback would be so helpful.

Super Exciting welcome back to the 4runner family, my .02 it sounds like you have the perfect start to the build you want, being blacked out.

You didn't mention what you intended to do primarily... to and from work? Any trails? basically are we going for a look or an off road beast.

My 4runner shuttles my wife to work 99% of the time but a few weeks of the year we are going to MOAB/Colorado and will be doing Rocks and overland type trails so I'm adding skid plates and that type of thing. I will keeping the 18in wheels for now. I'm personally very happy with the look after installing the westcott lift but I'm a TRD ORP so different suspension.

I'd consider the TRD pro black wheels or the TRD alternate wheels possibly. Both are 18's and can be mounted with the any of the OEM Tires the Toyos or Falkens which should be great for you unless you plan on doing some serious rock crawling. Almost any other tire and wheel setup will be 17in and at least a C rated tire which is heavier so worse milage but if your on trails a lot you might not care.

I feel StickerFab has a lot of accessories and customization options, I did rear toyota overlay stickers, a dash sticker with topo pattern that says 4runner, little storage bin for the dash and doors handles etc. I also added Rally Armor Mud Flaps and LazFit floor mats, lastly the Meso Customs Red/White interior lights.

as stated are we going for look or function?

look wise, i would start slow, go with tires and wheels

tires : look for on road with off road looks
wheels : look thru a tire/wheel website that has a visualizer

tire-rack
big-o tires

suspension upgrades, i would worry later about that, give companies time to create kits for the avs system. remember any mods to the suspension will give you the short bus ride to warranty claims beind denied especially for the avs system (and remember, its your dime to prove it wasnt the cause of the suspension failure once toyota decides it denies a claim)

once you get outside your 3/36k warranty then its a different story (also be mindful if you get a extended toyota warranty, the above will still apply)

minor interior exterior mods, plenty of sponsor hawking wares on here.

plenty of members have posted installs of different sponsors on here in various threads.

More going for look. Here’s the problem I ran into. I called customoffset yesterday and they recommended 17x8.5 Matte Black Wheel Black Rhino Guard 6x5.5 0 offset 265/70R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T All Terrain 265/70/17 Tires. I asked many times “will they fit on stock suspension without modifications”. He said yes. Needless to say I don’t think they will after my research so now I have trust issues. I don’t see how they won’t rub and no trimming. Even the black rhino website doesn’t recommend that wheel at 0 offset with no lift only the 25 and 35 offset. I also wonder if those tires are too much…I like them, but do I need heavy E Rated tires? I’m maybe thinking of just powder coating the 20s and putting spacers in to give me some offset. But also still debating maybe 18s. But you make a valid point about waiting for a lift for now with the AVS suspension, I definitely don’t want to mess with the warranty, so I appreciate that advice!

i personally wouldnt go below 18's but you have to make sure you get the correct oem size for 18's so as to not get your speedometer off by too much.

since you are a limited they default to 20's.

do some research on tire rack and read customer reviews on other tire brands and models. i mean not many people i know run mickeys for a daily driver. sounds more like they are trying to get rid of some old stock more than anything but thats just my opinion.

if you want, go locally like discount tire or word of mouth from the forums in your locality.

also use https://tiresize.com/ to do some personal research on different tire sizes that are within +/- spec of the oem sizes.
