That looks awesome! I was looking pretty closely at those last month but in the end I was nervous to mount it to the hood. Combination of unsure if the hood heat would affect it and basically nervous that I would screw up the install!!! I have to say it looks pretty good on yours - almost looks like one of the glare screens to keep the sun from reflecting into your eyes. Very stealthy. What are you wiring it into?

What are you using it for and why not use an alternator charger?

Wiring to aux battery in back and have disconnect to connect to my EcoFlow River Max Powerstation that connects to my mini Starlink on top of roof…

Interesting, and looks nice--although very expensive for its capacity compared to rigid panels (perhaps lexible panels are that much more). Rigid panels are typically around $1/watt, although I just got a couple on sale for about $60 for a 100w panel.

One thing--that small battery in the cargo area on the hybrid 4Runner is tiny. I do not recall if it is an AGM or standard, but neither like to be discharged much or often. It is a poor battery to use for solar applications if you plan to pull much power with any regularity. The best are LiFePl4 batteries, which do not care if they are drawn dead. The Ecoflows (and similar products from other brands) use thes and are excellent off-grid units. I have a skoolie (school bus converted to an RV) with a fairly large system like this; I can be off-grid basically forever (it has 1200W of solar panels and 400 AH batteries; obviously far more than will be on any 4Runner!).

Solid plan. I opted for a 100w hard panel recessed flush into my roof rack which powers either my Anker 40L cooler or my Anker Solix F2000. Likely the cooler a majority of the time...but occasionally the solar generator. No Starlink for me - I'm not that cool!
