Has anyone noticed there is no pressure release valve for our engines turbo system? Thats also known as a diverter valve or blow off valve. The V6TT tundra has 2, one on each side but i cant find one on this setup leading me to believe all pressure is just surging the turbo, and it doesnt seem to have an anti surge house either. Anyone have an idea whats toyotas engineering behind not causing premature turbo failure from the surge?

I am going to say that there has to be some sort of recirculating valve. No way Toyota would leave that out and let the turbo go through compressor surge. plus you would hear the compressor surge when letting off I think.... based on my previous turbo car experience.

Most turbos have a bypass valve now. It's internal and recirculates from the output back to the input right inside the casting. Heck my 2008 Saturn Sky does that.

(the example turbo in the video is even a toyota one, though not specifically ours)

a quick google search tells me that the Toyota T24A engine has a recirculating bypass valve

Im sorry i seem to be missing the part he mentions it, i see him covering the wg and some other parts which are very different from our trucks such as an air to water intercooler, ours is air to air.

It does when you put an intake on. The sounds are pretty noticeable loud. Like an old hks ssqv lol. Same thing i run on my skyline.

Ya ill have to take another look when I'm home but i dont think we have that built in solinoid when i was doing the intake adapter. Only think i noticed was one small rubber hose going from the hot side of the intercooler back to the turbo inlet but it isnt valved or large enough in diameter. Thats what made me curious to see if anyone looked into our specific setups
