K&N Series 77 Intake + OTT tune

Long story short bought the K&N 77 intake installed on my TRD Pro thinking it was going to work which it do for a day sounded amazing then got the error message “reduce engine power.”

It was advertised to work on all models little did I know the TRD pro and the Trailhunters have different intakes and MAF setting then the other 10 models it works on that all have the same intakes.

I set up and appoint for OTT tune next week to turn the whole car and MAF sensor for the right airflow on the new intake. 2 questions is the is the OTT tune worth it ( looking at reviews it is) and second one will this tune or intake void my warranty.

I really want to do this cause I love the sound just don’t want to void anything on my brand new 4Runner…

Haven’t got my 4Runner delivered but had an OTT tune done on my 3rd Gen Tacoma. What a world of a difference it made! I will definitely be doing it once I get the 4Runner. Don’t know about the intake, but the tune didn’t void any warranty and from what I can remember, the dealerships weren’t really even able to tell it was there.

Is it something you do once the tune or is it a yearly thing?

Got it done once and never had to do anything with it after that. You do have the ability to go back to whoever installed it to change throttle response level if you want to increase/decrease response but I never did.

Just wondering how much of a difference the KN is From the pro intake. But I do know this the OTT tune is worth it.. I put it on right after my 295 tires and the response was better than it was before.

Just got my OTT tune done yesterday on my brand new 25 Pro. HUGE difference in the way it drives.
