Interior plastic rubbed off

I have a radar detector mounted to my rear view mirror and power is being supplied with the braided power supply. I had it routed behind the screen, and it was rubbing against the gray plastic.

I guess the constant rubbing and bouncing while driving rubbed off the plastic paint.

Does anyone have any ideas how I could fix the plastic? It is an eye sore.

I'd probably just put a dumb sticker on there. Or take the whole thing off and paint it.

you can get a mirror wire taps for most radar detectors. If you can put a piece of the clear 3m on the area where the cord will rub. you could probabley get a small scrap piece from your local shop that does 3m paint protection.

I have a Fitcamx dash cam on the way that will use the acc power behind the rear view mirror. Do you know if there are additional pins to connect to for powering the radar?

I guess I will find out when I’m installing but thought I’d ask if anyone knew

Mine plugged in above the overhead console panel. The one with the sunroof/rear window controls. You'll give yourself anxiety and sore fingers to yank that sucker off too. It's ON THERE.

The Dongar adapter on my wife's car was a T (or Y) harness that plugged into the back of the mirror. Both were super easy.
