Does anyone have any experience using the Iceco VL45 Plus frige in a 6th gen? Specifically, does the side access door really replace the need for a slide?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have this fridge. I have a Solid Wood Worx cargo system, and this fridge works great with it. I have about 19" of clearance due to the drawer system, so this works great. I don't have room for a slide with this fridge, and quite honestly, it eliminates the need for one.

Thanks! That is the exact setup that I am going for with the Solid Wood Worx drawers!

I use the handle to tie down my fridge, that doesn't seem to be an option here.

Are there other ways of securing this fridge?

What do you tie it down to to secure it to the top of the drawers? I was thinking about using some L-track.

You wont be sorry.

Get these and run the webbing straps through them. Super low profile. Use a T-nut so it's flush on the bottom.

You won't regret it! Buy once, cry once. This mat fits nicely in there and can be trimmed down to size perfectly if you lay it lengthwise from wheel well to wheel well. No gear sliding, and the wood doesn't get damaged.

Also, they included some sort of L-shaped metal, approx. 2.5 feet long with my system. There were no directions on where to install it, so I applied it with double-sided tape to the top edge facing you when you open the tailgate to prevent chipping or nicks. I had to cut them down to equal lengths so that the seam was in the middle. Also, make sure you pay attention to the drawer slides. The original screws they sent me didnt allow the drawer to stay "locked closed" when the drawer was closed. They had to send me new screws with a different head.

I use a fridge slide so I drilled holes in the top plate of my solid wood worx system and inserted the T-nuts from the bottom. This way I can easily secure the slide with M6 bolts when I run with the fridge, and unbolt and still have a smooth top when I don't.

As for the L-shaped metal, they did not include that when I purchased my kit. However, I found their customer service to be very responsive, especially when using the chat option on their website. Contrast this with some people's experience with a certain other vendor, and it's a good reason to go with solid wood worx.

This is the exact fridge I've been looking at getting because of the handy front access, also on top of a drawer system. You guys like yours?

Love it. I originally had an Euhomy, sold that because it was too tall, too heavy, wouldn't fit on the slide I had, and needed to be lifted in and out every time I needed to get into it. I ordered a smaller Setpower and returned it before it even arrived because I saw this Iceco! Couldn't be happier!
