Hood gas lift spring install

Just installed a gas spring hood lift kit from Redline Tuning. For anyone who’s interested, the install was quick (just a few minutes) and the gas springs seem to work very well. I was impressed by the quality of the components, care in packaging and very clear and accurate installation instructions. I got them from 4runnerlifestyle.com

Nice! I read on one forum that installing the gas struts helped or stopped his hood from the common hood vibration that plagues the 4Runners while driving down the road. Did these struts have any affect on the hood vibration? If so, I would purchase them for this reason alone. The hood vibrating on my PRO drives me crazy! I've had many vehicles in my life and never had a vehicle with a hood vibration.

I installed a different brand of hood struts and the hood vibration is still there.
Either way, it was a cheap and easy upgrade.
Mine were only $55, half the price of the 4runnerlifestyle.com struts.

Recently installed Redline hood struts from Cali Raised LED. Haven't driven enough yet to notice hood vibration. These struts are well balanced and make raising & lowering the hood near effortless. Well worth the $$ just to eliminate the prop rod.
