Hello,

just got my MT64s in the mail. Getting them installed tomorrow. The box says the front struts are MT64 assy med 20. Is that indicating the springs are for medium load? I can’t find much on their website to help me, however some info seemed to indicate they all have the same spring rate. Appreciate the help!

I'm considering the OME and was curious about that "med 20" so asked Gemini. This is what it said:

In the description of an Old Man Emu (OME) MT64 strut assembly, "Med 20" indicates two separate tuning and configuration specifications: [1]
Med (Medium Load): This refers to the spring rate and valving stiffness. OME designs assemblies for specific weight categories (Stock, Medium, Heavy). A "Medium" setup is optimized for vehicles carrying light-to-moderate aftermarket accessories, such as a lightweight hidden winch mount, a minor front bumper, or a roof rack, without compromising ride quality.
20 (+20mm Preload/Lift setting): This refers to the snap-ring groove position chosen on the shock body during preassembly. The MT64 strut has adjustable grooves spaced from -5mm up to +20mm. Setting it at the maximum +20mm position provides the highest amount of spring preload, yielding roughly a 2.5 to 3-inch ride height lift on a medium-weighted vehicle. [1, 2, 3]
To confirm if this is the correct configuration for your setup, you can check:
Do you plan to install a heavy steel bumper or plow? (If yes, you may need a Heavy load rating instead of Medium).
What rear lift height are you matching this to?

Are you getting just the front struts? If I go down the OME path, I'd be getting the entire 2135K kit. Mostly want to ensure the rear gets some lift and heavier springs, along with more overall articulation. I plan to install a bump stop since my big tires are contacting the inside of the fender well at full articulation.

so I called ARB support. The MED 20 is their stock load. Basically MED 20 is indicating the 20mm like you said and for a 3 inch lift to be possible you need a MED load. Now, he said changing the HT on with the clips if you have a stock load lower will cushion the ride some. That was according to ARB.

we will see tomorrow! Im running a level with it. Only doing a 20 inch front lift.
