Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce ourselves—we're the tech support team at Mangoal Dash Cam, glad to officially join the 4Runner6G community!

We're mainly here to talk fitment, help troubleshoot any tech questions, and share exclusive forum discounts. We know keeping the windshield clean without dangling wires or splicing into factory wiring is a big priority on these trucks, especially when hitting the trails.

You can check out our install guides and footage on our channel:

Feel free to drop any questions, trim fitment checks, or install tips below. Looking forward to chatting with you guys!

Classic Shenzhen special.

Look at the vents, housing, and harness. Mangoal didn’t even try to hide copying Fitcamx’s homework, straight down to the render angles.

Guaranteed both come out of the exact same factory in Guangdong, just slapped with different branding. Fitcamx just spent the ad money first.

Honestly, just buy whichever is cheaper on Amazon or has faster shipping. It’s the exact same plastic underneath lol 😂

Fair enough, they do look alike from the outside. That's mostly the mirror cover dictating the shape. We do run our own factory and tooling though, so it's not the same unit rebranded. Happy to answer any specific questions.

Perhaps. The difference for me is that Mangool answered every single one of my 21 questions. FITCAMX did not/would not despite several tries. From what I received, the hardware in the Mangool is better in some regards, but cannot be compared apples to apples because one comany doesn't share all of the relevant specifications the other does.

What's the camera & sensor specs?

FitcamX has optional Sony Starvis 2 sensor. I'm not sponsored by them but Starvis 2 is the gold-standard for high quality & sharpness in day or night time for dash cam.

I agree that Sony STARVIS 2 sensors are excellent, but Mangoal also uses STARVIS 2 sensors in its newer camera system. These are the specifications Mangoal provided directly in response to my questions:

Front camera:
- Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor
- 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD)
- HDR recording
- 130° ±5° diagonal FOV
112.2° ±3° horizontal FOV
- 61.6° ±3° vertical FOV

Rear camera:
- Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor
- 2560 × 1440 (2K QHD)
- HDR recording
- 139° ±5° diagonal FOV
- 106° ±3° horizontal FOV
- 77° ±3° vertical FOV

Both cameras support H.264/H.265 encoding with variable bitrate.

I'm not claiming Mangoal is necessarily better than FITCAMX. There may be advantages to either system, and the image sensor alone doesn't determine recording quality. My difficulty comparing them is that Mangoal answered my 21 technical questions promptly and in considerable detail, while FITCAMX never provided complete answers despite multiple attempts.

Based on the information I have, Mangoal appears competitive and potentially better in some respects, particularly its 2K rear camera. But without comparable technical specifications from FITCAMX, I can't make a definitive comparison.

For me, the Viofo A329T is still a consideration.

We do offer the Sony STARVIS 2 option across the lineup.

While our vehicle coverage differs from Fitcamx in some areas, we have full coverage for Toyota models. Also, a GPS module is included with every unit at no extra charge—logging your speed, location, and driving route directly in the app.
