Fuel door won't open

I have 2025 4runner ORP (Gas) is there an emergency procedure to open the fuel door if it won't open pushing the dash button?

All I can find in the manual is “see your dealer”. Not much of an option if you way out in Timbuktu.

My fuel door will open this is a preemptive question.

remove the access panel on driver side interior and operate it manually

this is an image from a borescope on my 2025 4runner,
taken thru the bottle jack access door

motor that activates the gas door is white assembly and you see a
little black plastic pull handle circled in green and closest to camera.

get a hold of that handle and pull it releases door latch.

may need to pull trim so you can get your hand in there
or fashion some type of hook from a coathanger

We have. 2025 Hybrid ORP…the jack compartment didn’t have a visible handle when the jack was removed…but the 12 Volt accessory battery is visible as you look down. Is the manual release handle in a different location in the Hybrids?

you see that part where I say 'may need to pull trim' ?

yank this trim and reach in and find the handle. don't cut yourself

myself...if it ever happens to me ...
I'm using my borescope to send in a fish loop
and pulling from bottle jack access door

NOTE: The TIS procedure for replacing the fuel door motor
shows that you to go in via the Jack Access door
