I have the factory Falken Wildpeaks on my '25 TRD OR, and have been noticing they have poor traction in snow. Takes forever to stop, ABS kicking in frequently. My previous car with the Wildpeak A/T trail had more grip in snow. Anyone else noticing the same?

I know these obviously aren't winter tires, but still - with the 3Peak snow rating I expected better, the at3w appears to be a more "hardcore" tire than the A/T trails I used to drive on.

I recommend you google what qualifies a tire to be rated (1) All season(2) 3peaks (3) Mud/Snow (4) Winter. There might also be an ‘All weather’ rating too. Except for the Winter tire rating the tire has to pass a standard test for acceleration in snow. There is no test to prove the tire can stop well in snow to be given one of the above ratings. Except for ‘Winter’ rating. I have Michelin all seasons on my other car and they are terrible at stopping in snow/ice. Haven’t tested the Falkens yet in the snow but I’m not surprised by your comment.

The OEM Falken WildPeak A/T3WA tires are not 3Peak rated. Just M+S.

The factory Falken I’m not gonna lie I like because you got a soft ride. They’re lightweight you get better gas mileage. They’re just cool looking passenger tires. But once they wear down and I’m sure they’re gonna wear it quick I’m gonna get real Falken SL.

Just cost cutting by Toyota. Using tires that no-one would buy if it was up to them.
Apparently the OEM Toyota spec tires on the TRD Pro have thinner tread than what Toyo offers if you bought them from a tire shop.
It's like them omitting the heat/noise shield on the underside of the hood on the base OR vs ORP. Penny pinching.

All Falken tires are not made the same. I have the Wildpeak AT4s that are C-rated and three mountain peak. They do great in snow and ice. I think it boils down to what the manufacturer has made specifically for the vehicle. OE tires, even when carrying a name, are usually super soft with a very quiet compound. Literally just for test drives. LOL
