De-chrome 2025 4Runner Limited - how are you doing it?

I'm ready to embark on dechroming my 2025 Limited hybrid. It came with the bronze badge covers, which are growing on me (despite my love of the nightshade and other blacked out models).

So far I've ordered the Trailhunter grille insert with the bronze lettering. I'll let you know how that install goes.

Removed the air dam. Will probably look for a reasonably priced black skid plate or similar...hopefully it's not too hard to install myself.

Window tint (nothing too crazy) happens tomorrow.

Anyone tackle the roof rails (without spending $1500 on a new rack) or the front/back fender trim? What did you do?

I'm also looking to change out the stock chrome wheels/tires for 18's with a bit more rugged tire (while keeping gas mileage in mind). Not sure what I'll get there....maybe an all back wheel, maybe a black/bronze version.

This is the rub. While a Limited is more within budget, you may as well go Platinum if you don't want the chrome.

I purchased my Limited because I wanted the brown leather Portobello interior which ONLY came in the Limited. However I didn't like the look of all the chrome etc. So I did this:

- Purchased the bronze overlay kit (only kit that had the "Limited" badging) and painted it matte black. Then stuck it on and it removed all the chrome badging.

- Purchased and installed for cheap the gloss black roof rails from a forum member here.

- Purchased and installed the TRO PRO upper grill.

- Purchased and installed some TRO PRO Rims and rapped them in Nitto 275/70/18 tires.

- Had a local shop paint gloss black the front and rear gray bummers.

Obviously I did some other stuff but not related to the OP's question.

This is what I’m looking to do too! I bought the limited caused I wanted the third row and the platinum model didn’t come with a third row.

What did you do about camera configuration on the front grille? That’s the only thing I’m worried about.

If you only replace the top grill you do not have to deal with the camera issue. If you replace the top AND bottom grill you have to reposition the camera from the bottom to the top.

I recommend just replacing the top grill. It looks great and the bottom is not worth the hassle (camera repo)
