After doing a little searching online and from what I already knew of the hybrid, the bottom was designed differently, which explains why on the hybrid the sequence goes engine, transmission, and then transfer case skid plate in that order. I called RCI and they said that they just recently released the hybrid skid plate. I’d have to take a look underneath my forerunner again, but yes I’ve replaced whatever was there with steel skid. I spend a few weeks in Colorado every year and don’t want to risk puncturing or damaging anything so I went with full steel skid plates. Basically everything RCI offers is what I purchased.
The mini-skid under the transfer case is steel but its not very thick (not as thick as the steel LC front and TH Trans skids I have). Adding a more significant skid seems prudent for serious rock crawling.
