Cobb has been working on this one for over a year, and it's finally available to the public. I will be getting mine in the next day or 2 and will test it on my development truck. This is a great option since it keeps the stock lower airbox, and has a very OEM look, but still uses a high flow cone dry filter. Available on my site here:

https://camtuningperformance.com/pr...coma-2024-4runner-2025?variant=47951401320670

Message me if you'd like to pair it with an AP and a tune.

The COBB SF Intake System for Toyota's 2024+ Tacoma and 2025+ 4Runner features high quality components, reduces restrictions in the intake path, and looks great under the hood!

A replacement airbox lid is injection molded high quality plastic to survive the harshest under-hood environments for the life of your truck

Under the new lid sits a bespoke, high flow filter with massive surface area when compared the the factory panel filter.

An injection molded MAF housing features a smooth transition velocity stack for increased airflow. Integrated air straighteners ensure consistent and accurate readings by the factory MAF sensor.

Connecting the COBB MAF housing to the factory turbocharger inlet assembly is a 5-layer reinforced black silicone held in place with high quality clamps.

The SF Intake System is compatible with the factory tune and all COBB Off The Shelf (OTS) Maps.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH TRAILHUNTER OR TRD PRO

Note: CARB EO coverage for 2024+ Hybrid Truck applications is pending at this time. Stay Tuned as we work towards CARB approved 50-State status for i-FORCE MAX powered trucks

They may not always be first to market, but they ALWAYS make great quality parts!

I can only assume that all it does is help the turbo spool up faster

On these trucks the turbo already spools very quickly from the factory, so you’re usually not looking for huge gains from an intake alone.

A cone-style filter like this mainly reduces restriction a bit, can help response slightly, and typically lets you hear the turbo more. The bigger improvements usually come when airflow changes are paired with calibration.

I purchased one of these last week and installed today. It requires an update of the Cobb tune for this truck to version 101. I just installed the tune a few weeks back and it was at v100 so it requires updating the accessport. Otherwise it will throw a MAF fault.

Based on some Cobb intakes in the last this one seems a little basic and the hose to the turbo inlet pipe seems a bit cheap.

Direction were not available but when I called Cobb they sent them right away.

After I upgraded the tune post install and went for a drive. It actually seems quieter than stock which is fine by me.

All graphs, Cobb posts, show no additional gains over normal Stage 1 tune.

Thanks for the honest feedback. I’m a little surprised to hear the update was required to avoid a fault code, so I’ll dig into that. The MAF housing diameter on that intake should scale the same as stock, so it should normally run on the stock mapping without triggering a code.

You’re also correct that the off-the-shelf maps typically don’t show additional peak gains with an intake like this. Where they tend to help more is throttle response and turbo sound unless the calibration is adjusted to take advantage of the reduced restriction.

I actually have one of these arriving this week and will be retuning a customer’s Tacoma with it, so I’m curious to see how the logs look compared to stock intake.

Yes, I was surprised as well it needed the tune. In fact it has a sticker over where you install the factory MAF, that says a tune is required otherwise damage may be caused to the engine. I happened to be on with Cobb tech support tracking down the install directions and mentioned I have never seen that before. They indicated yes with these new Toyotas and that to make sure I had the lastest version which is 101 where they added support for the intake. They just released that version of the tune.
Looking forward to getting your take on whether any gains at all with it.

Thank you!

I took a close look at the v101 map vs the previous version. (v100). In the tuning software, there are not differences. There may be some differences in supported code and tables, but the tunable tables all match. I'll ask the lead calibrator tomorrow if he knows why they told you that.

Either way, I'm happy you got it installed and working!
