Chrome Front Badge Overlay

Hey All! First time 4runner owner here so going to ask some ignorant questions, sorry in advance!

My ORP came with a chrome front emblem overlay and it’s driving me crazy as the only chrome thing on the entire vehicle. Can I just remove this thing and there will be a black one underneath? Or do I need to order a back cover? Thought about plastic dipping but trying to skip that if possible.

I bought the black overlay on Amazon from a Toyota dealer. Just peel of the tape and stick it on. Part number ‎PT948-35245-02
