I ran into that whacky shipping charge when I was looking for a cargo mat. called the place and they said it was a big box or something to that effect.
I checked around and I believe parts.elmhursttoyota.com got it to me for 20% off and $30 shipping. Box was similar to the one in the video.
That freight was IL to MA.
I went with Toyota of Nucar which has 50 percent off shipping right now. $348 total. Was only $40 more than the cheapest dealer I found for pick up within 400 miles. The shipping is outrageous if you try to go through Toyota even with their Black Friday deal. Toyota of Nucar was $11 for shipping and I am completely on the other side of the US from their dealership.

I tried Nucar. My order went through, but was cancelled a couple days later. Here’s what the email from them said.

Thank you for considering Nucar / OEM Parts for your automotive needs. We have made a decision as a company to no longer ship certain high damage items such as glass, A/C lines, power steering lines, brake lines and certain vehicle moldings. Your order has been canceled and you will not be charged.
We apologize for this inconvenience
- Nucar / OEM Parts team

I will reach out to them and ask. Sometimes it is location based when dealerships cancel orders. I will report back what I find out. Many companies now have insurance options for a small fee so it’s strange they wouldn’t take advantage of that. Thanks for letting me know though.

I was told they would ship it but I had the order cancelled because the hood insulator is on national backorder.

Another dealership told me the hood insulator is on national backorder. Just so people know.

I know noise is important but I really want to get it to protect the heat from ruining my hood when driving in the summer. Has anyone felt their hood after driving a distance to see if it's not as hot? Please check so I don't flush another pricey thing down the toilet. Thanks

I’ve never noticed anything much more than “warm”.

I have the oem insulation. And, I have not noticed a remarkable surface temp difference.

I was hoping to hear from someone that has bought the aftermarket insulation to see if it's hot after driving. If you have OEM I'm not going to be the same.

These are likely all from the same source.
Amazon cautions that it is a "frequently returned item" .
Much better measure of quality than the reviews.

Although someone posted they have had one in use for a year.

I've had mine for a year from Amazon on our 25 Tacoma and our 25 4Runner. No issues at all. You can get them from Lexland.com as well. Here is a discount code, use 828discount .
