Hello.

inside the multi-information display has a voltmeter display with a 10-volt range from 9 to 19 volts. The user manual doesn’t say but I assume it is the charge indicator for the rear 12v battery.

When I start driving, the indicator is to near mid-level indicating 14 volts. But a little while into the driving the bar shortens to about 1/3rd level, indicating about 12.4 volts.

I have measured the voltage of the rear 12v battery with the vehicle in READY mode to be 14.01 volts, and with the vehicle powered off it is at 12.7 volts.

I am assuming that when the voltage is indicated to be 14+ volts it means it is being charged by the traction battery via the built-in DC-DC converter.

If while driving the charge indicator drops to 12.4 volts, does it mean the DC-DC converter is not delivering power to the rear 12v battery?

I drive with headlights on and the

Thanks in advance.

That would be my guess. "Regular" cars use an alternator that charges the battery constantly. I am guessing that this one, probably hybrids in general, cycle the charge cycle as needed rather than just having a constant charge.
