Hi folks! I just bought a 2026 4 Runner limited. I live 6 miles back on a crappy dirt road so I need a vehicle with clearance and 4x4. Dunlop mall mom tires on it right now. I did buy the tire warranty because we do go through tires back here. I knew I would have to upgrade the tires. This vehicle will be used mostly for making longer runs on the highway however I do need to make it home without splitting a sidewall. We run KO2s on the Tundra and KM3 on the FJ. I honestly don't want either of those tires. Looking for options/suggestions. Should I upgrade the wheels too?

I had those on the Tundra originally. They actually did very good. At 30,000 we never had a flat or problem however, hubby upgraded because he tows a 10,000 pound water trailer once a month. He was afraid of the belts slipping. Obviously, I'm not going to tow much, if anything, with the 4 Runner. Thank you for you suggestion.

Those are nice! My son-in-law is suggesting 17 inch wheels. He's says I'll have more tire on the ground for a better drive on my crappy road. Horrible ride with the 20 inch wheel and Dunlop mall mom tires. I need an all terrain but not too aggressive. Thoughts?

Definitely swap to 17". I dont have a tire suggestion because I prefer more of an all terrain and dont care about mpg.

Agree on swapping to 17" or even 18" would be helpful. We live in the country (lots of dirt and gravel roads), have lifted vehicles and prefer AT tires. My husband runs MT Baja Boss on his F250 and I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Maybe too aggressive for what you're wanting, but wanted to share since we have similar driving conditions. The only downsides here are definite drop in mag and the knobbier tires throw rocks.
