I didn’t want to edit the post, but I had to because my main focus was to get alignment specs and hear opinions from others with a similar setup. Unfortunately, the admins here like to change your notes in a way that generates more discussion and participation, as opposed to what I was actually...
Apparently, I went to one of the best alignment shops in the city, and they mentioned that this was the best they could do. They said the alignment is within acceptable limits, although it's marginal. I wanted to see what alignment specs others are getting with the same or a similar setup.
Lots of variables, there is no specific height limit because a lot of factors are involved, such as rim size, tire size, how you achieve the height etc
That’s right. For your setup, I would recommend a 1-inch ReadyLIFT spacer for the rear if you like a level stance. And i would avoid any wheel spacer, that's just me.
5100 dedicated for 6Gen. Stock springs.
I would say its a bit firmer, more controlled, less body roll for sure which i love it, less nose dive under breaking, and the most important thing in my opinion you get more droop travel compared to any preloaded collar lift, less bouncy and more truck...
Hey everyone, just wanted to share my truck! Upgraded to Bilstein 5100 front and rear shocks, and I’m really happy with the height and the ride.
2.2 inch front and 0.8 rear lift. Sweet spot considering my tire size (275/70/17) and overall level stance!
Part numbers:
Front: 24-347464

Feel free to chime in on the alignment numbers if you know your stuff.
Some claim that the front suspension sits lower after settling due to the engine weight and the fact that the front is generally heavier than the rear. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. I usually prefer a slight rake, where the rear sits just a bit higher.
You definitely need an alignment. Remember, Bilstein shocks are longer, and the way they change the suspension geometry is more significant than the Westcott design. It’s not just about that small height difference.
Thanks for the info and your contribution to the community. I commented on one of your YouTube videos yesterday and got a quick response. Can you tell us more about how airbags work, and why not just replace the rear springs with stronger ones instead?
