  1. Car Camping Base

I would recommend 1/2", it will feel more solid and flex less.
  2. Car Camping Base

FYI, the second row seats in the 6G do not fold flat with the trunk. This was an unwelcome surprise to me after taking delivery. Even if you installed this, you would still need to figure out how to create support the trunk space, since it's a good foot or two lower than the 2nd row seats when...
  3. V6 6th Gen - Just a matter of time?

The current administration in the US seems to be interested in paring down emissions regulations, which might make a NA V6 4Runner possible again, but even if that were true, the requirements could always become stricter again in the future. Toyota probably wouldn't risk the cost of modifying...
  4. TRD Off Road Premium vs TRD Pro

If you need to ask if the Pro is worth it, you probably aren't driving difficult enough trails to justify it. Save the 10-15k and get the ORP. If you need to ever upgrade it, you'll have a pile of cash to throw around, but most people will never push the limits of a stock 4Runner, let alone an ORP.
  5. Worn Driver side door seal after 6 months

15k miles and 7+ months of ownership here. Zero wear as you have pictured in the OP. Try being more cognizant of your booty when entering.
  6. 1st heavy snow 4WD debacle - what can I do differently

Pretty sure MTS defaults to "auto" mode, and you could manually disable TC from there for a similar effect. Snow mode does that automatically though, and might tune the power output a bit better than auto would figure out how to.
  7. Full Size Spare Tire not coming on trims (that should)?

ORP here, when I got my last service I was told that they couldn't rotate in my spare tire because it had a different (presumably cheaper) wheel, but the tire itself was supposed to be full size. I really need to crawl under the vehicle and take a look to confirm for myself. I was very...
  8. Group 27 AGM Battery Upgrade Installed

What was your purpose for upgrading, did you have any issues with the stock battery?
  9. Backup Camera Relocation Kit

FWIW moving the camera location will presumably mess up the "stitching" of the various cameras that provide a 360-degree view, which we paid extra for with our ORPs. Something to consider if you're okay with before making the change.
  10. Which Drive Mode are you all using for daily driving?

I like to use Eco. Normal is okay, but not peppy enough to justify the decreased MPG. Sport mode is fun for the mountains, and helpful to merge onto the highway or pass, but I set the mode back to Eco as soon as I am cruising again. Rotating the mode dial makes me feel like I'm controlling a...
  11. V6 engine recall. This is a bit concerning considering I just bought my first Toyota

The Tundra has a different engine, built in a different factory in a different country, on a different vehicle platform. No similar issues have been reported on the I4 turbo that has already been around for a few years now in some Lexus vehicles. I do not share your concern with over 11k happy...
  12. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

I visited the Toyota dealer to check out the new gen 4R -- seriously, just to look -- and they had a TRD ORP sitting on the lot that someone had ordered, gotten delivered, but failed to successfully finance. It was even the same color I was hoping to find. The salesman slithered out from behind...
  13. 2025 4Runner Transmission Overheating on Climbs Off-Road

I was exploring the FS roads behind Pinecrest Lake yesterday on a relatively easy 3/10 ascent. Not particularly steep, but a sustained graded climb over loose rutted soil. It was hot outside, around 90F, and I was moving at a decent clip where the trail would allow. About 15 minutes in, while...
  14. Stolen! Key fob cloning theft method used to steal 2025 4Runner 6th gen

What a nightmare and a headache, sorry this happened to you, and thanks for sharing your advice with the community.
  15. Useless Trip Information Screen

Pretty snarky for a guy who can't figure out how to read a basic bar graph...
  16. Useless Trip Information Screen

How are they stupid or useless? The first graph pictured shows you your average MPG per minute over the last 15 minutes. The second graph pictured shows your average MPG since the last time you updated the chart. If you don't want to use them, then just don't use them. The only thing useless...
  17. 4RUNNER TRD PRO Front and back camera faded quality colors

Judging by how scratched up your infotainment screen is after only one week, I am guessing you need to clean your cameras. Would recommend using a fresh, clean microfiber cloth to avoid any more scratches :)
  18. Rear Hatch needs slammed to stop beeping 5 times when I lock the car

I was closing up the trunk and some passenger doors the other day while the car was still running, and I counted 8 beeps in a row. Totally excessive, Toyota, and super annoying, too.
  19. Rate this setup for a new 98% On-road and 2% Off-road build!

    >Been watching from afar and have some experience off-roading with my brother, but I've never built my own rig. The TRD ORP is very capable stock. Have you actually encountered a scenario where you need a lift and beefier tires? You're going to sacrifice a lot of day-to-day comfort and...
  20. Feelings on Paint Protection Film PPF: Good or Bad?

No PPF for me. It's not a pavement princess and will get scratched up and damaged off road sooner or later. If the paint chips in places, I won't lose any sleep over it.
