I have a 23 TRD ORP and a 25 TRD ORP. I also test drove a 2025 SR5, sport premium, and limited. Here’s my two cents.
23 TRD ORP: the smoothest on bumpy roads with minimal chatter in the frame and cabin. Also better interior materials and less flexing of door panels…more solid feel.
25 SR5...
My dealership tried adding foam padding inside and still hasn't fixed it. I also noticed that it doesn't do this with the window down (even just a little down). It only does it with the window up.
I have a TRD ORP and am really disappointed in the ride quality and interior build quality as well. So many rattles and creaks. I spent 6 weeks with a dealer trying to fix my door creak (see vid) and they couldn’t fix it. Toyota corporate wasn’t much help either. I wish I could sell it but it’s...
Your credit union may be able to just give you a check to take to the dealership for the amount you want financed. Then you can pay for the car with two checks (one from your credit union and one from you).
I have the rattle near the driver seat belt adjuster. I hear it when I drive over bumps. Loud music doesn't trigger it. I wonder if these are two separate issues.
My two cents on my 25 TRD ORP...
Cons:
Loose rear spoiler.
Front door panels creak.
Rear window rattle.
Front seats make a popping noise when shifting weight sometimes.
Jittery ride quality on roads with small bumps/cracks.
Intermittent seat memory issues.
Odd ergonomic placement of...
Yeah, there's only two dealers near me and they both kind of suck (IMO). I went there again this past Saturday and showed them that it's still making the noise and it's still at their shop (over 30 days now). Not the quality I expected in a $60k vehicle. Also not the level of...
If you care about ride quality at all, go with the smaller wheel and larger tire. Also, if you don't plan on going on really rough off-road trails, maybe skip the e-rated tires. This gen rides rough. Just my two cents. Congrats on the new ride.
My wife and I have a 2023 and 2025 4runner, both TRD ORPs. Honestly, I'd keep the limited you have. The prev gen has better interior materials and overall feels like a more solid, well-built vehicle. Plus the ride quality in the prev gen is better (IMO).
They said they could recreate the same noise by pushing in the interior components. They tried adding foam to prevent rubbing but it’s still there. Now the dealer is trying to tell me it’s “intermittent” and they don’t hear anything. They wanted me to come back for the 5th time to show them the...
So the dealership called and said everything was fixed. I went to go pick it up and guess what, still not fixed. And on top of that, one of my roof rail strips (the rubber strips) was broken off and they had to re-attach it. They said they can reproduce the noise by pushing on the interior door...
It's coming from behind the center grab handle in the middle of the drivers door. The handle you'd grab to pull the door closed after getting in. The panel flexes a bit and creaks quite loudly. They already replaced the panel and tried tightening the window tracks inside. Still creaks.
The...
Bump to see if anyone else is having this problem. My 4Runner has been in the shop about 2 weeks now and they’ve done two repair attempts and it’s still creaking like an 20 year old truck.
My wife has a 23 4runner and I have a 25 4runner, both TRD ORPs. I can honestly say the 25 is noticeably harsher on small bumps/cracks in the road. It's not tire pressure, it's just the suspension...especially in the rear.
I'm hoping OME or Fox come out with an aftermarket suspension kit soon.
