I expanded my search outside of the SET zone to escape their nonsense. I'm based in ATL. In the end, I ended up at small dealer in Savannah, GA that offered the best discount and almost no port add-on crap. Just a dumb set of USB cables and a cargo cover. It was SET, but I got lucky to avoid the...
I settled on KO3, 275/70/18. I’ve owned many sets of KO2 and opted for what I trust.
Smooth enough ride @ 35psi even at highway speeds. The turbo handles the extra weight fine.
This incident in the San Juans prompted me to move forward with 275/70/18 KO3s, E. Stock suspension.
So far, super happy with them. Smooth balance @ 70-80mph on the highway. Running 35psi.
In the past, I ran 38 psi on 285/70/17 KO2 eload for over 75k without issues on my 5th gen. I also ran c...
I personally find the 6th gen platform as a whole to be a bit rough and jarring on gravel and chip-seal roads. It's just not as smooth as the 5th gen was.
I'm also looking at the SL load Terra Grappler G3. No experience with Nitto and now you have me a bit concerned. The limited C rated options...
Very possible. It's a bit far from the wheel well. Maybe someone else with a (gas) ORP could take a look underneath their vehicle and see if they notice an unused connector like this.
I noticed a wiring harness dangling below the drivers door just below the steps on my ORP today.
Does anyone know what this is for or how it should be tucked out of the way if unused?
This must have recently dropped down because I’ve never noticed it before until today. 7100 miles.
Looking to swap tires before an upcoming trip to Colorado. Planning to keep the 18" ORP wheels, but 265/70/18 is limited. Aiming for KO3 or AT4W.
On my 5th gen, I ran E-rated K02 285/7017 for over 60k miles. Never had an issues with the "stiff" ride. I then ran 2 more sets of C-rated KO2's to...
Someone else still got the same unpredictable messages with a harness plugged in. The root cause is the auto detection. You can disable this in settings, but it automatically turns back on after each ignition cycle.
This is how I’ve been running my dual 1up rack for the last 6000 miles. Works fine except for the constant double negative questions asking if the rack is or isn’t still attached. Happens with bikes on the rack and also without. Just a poor Auto sensing algorithm by Toyota.
I have an ORP with stock tires and OEM mud guards/step platform. I’ve observed the 6th gen flinging gravel from day 1. I find small rocks on my steps, rear bumper platform and even on the roof sometimes after long gravel stretches on forest service roads. It’s absurd.
I never experienced this...
I’ve read about these issues on the new Tacoma. Insane to think these new Toyota’s aren’t capable for simple things that they’re intended to do. Never had any issues in 230k on my 5th gen driving to high altitude trailheads. No issues yet on my 6th, but have only done a 2400’ gravel climb so...
As it heats up in Ga, I’m noticing the air conditioning compressor as well. It’s constantly cycling on/off when vehicle is parked or at a light. A bit annoying and not something my 5th ever did.
Interesting issue with the backup camera. I haven’t experienced anything like that after 5,000 miles. I’d say something isn’t right if that was a daytime image (which it appears to be)
I’m running 34psi on an ORP and find the ride rough on gravel or chip sealed road. The 5th gen was much smoother than the 6th. I suspect it has something to do with the newer frame and body design. It’s great on smooth highway.
