I bought a switch from StickerFab just to see what they looked like. I took it apart to see how it works. There's a little PCB inside with two surface mount LEDs and a surface mount pushbutton switch. The switch is not momentary which is probably more universal as there aren't many...
Hmm... so I don't have this backup squeal like I've seen in videos but I do hear a very slight squeal while driving. It's not related to braking. It doesn't get worse when braking. It does seem to get a bit louder when making a right turn. These kind of noises are hard to pinpoint. Could it...
Hmm... so judging purely by the LED part alone, this video matches what I have on my vehicle. Part of me wants to ignore it until I have to take it in for the first service and have the dealer remove it. (Yes, that would be a different dealer than the one I bought it from). That way, if they...
Anyone have this thing under the steering wheel air bag?
It's clearly not Toyota judging by the half-assed installation. There are two LEDs in there, one blinks green when you open the door. That ribbon cable is part of it. Other than dropping that bottom plastic, I didn't dig any further...
I ran into the same issue. Non-brake-controller setup. I messed around with the calibration and straight backup feature this morning. My trailer is 12 feet long but the auto length feature thought it was 18 feet. But when I put the trailer away, I kept getting this message along with the...
I'm curious to know how many miles folks feel comfortable doing in a single day. The most I've ever done on my Gen 1 4Runner was 700+ but I was 20 years younger back then. I've only done about 100+ in one shot in my Trailhunter. The ambient noise level is a pleasure alone. Not having to...
Does anyone know how to get at the back side of the ODB connector? I'm starting to think that there's something spliced in there. The panel right below the steering wheel has "airbag" molded into the plastic so that's not just a pop out thing.
I'm starting to wonder if there are any tracking devices on my Trailhunter. The OBD plug is white so that's a possible sign that there's nothing on that assuming that all aftermarket pass-thrus are black. But there's also a green LED that's right next to that. Is that legit or not?
Update on my version: Two issues. First, the carpeting is getting compressed under the feet so I'm going to have to unscrew them to get a little bit more height. The threaded part isn't very long so I may end up having to get some longer ones. The second issue is that unlike my 86 4Runner...
Trailhunter Normal vs Eco test report. The test conditions have been "city" driving or more accurately, mostly not at highway speed driving; elevation roughly 5000 feet MSL; A/C on. I reset the Average MPG after each fill up. I've done about 1200 miles in Normal mode and I get 20.5. The last...
So, the Invisible Glass doesn't seem to help at all. I mean, yes, it cleans the glass but it doesn't get rid of the mineral spots. I'm testing out the Chemical Guys water spot remover. It's a noticeable improvement. What's interesting is what happened to the test window after I took it to...
Ooo... I like that location. Where did you run the power wiring?
I figure this would be a good solution to route the antenna wire to the roof rack. https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/wiring-lights-on-a-sherpa-capitol-rack-diy-install-how-to-writeup.4085/
What's that sound coming from the engine compartment on a Trailhunter when you open the driver's side door in the morning (or when it's been sitting for a while)?
