I had a similar experience trying to find TRD ORP. I even planned to go to Louisiana from Florida, and then the dealer last-minute quoted me that for out-of-state buyers extended warranty was required (3.5k value).
At the moment when I looked for my 4Runner inventory was really thin, QA hold...
I’m thinking about doing the same lift, but I'm having stock TRD ORP wheels and tires. I believe the stock size is 265/70R18. Not really looking to swap out the rims, but I might upgrade to the biggest tires that’ll fit on the stock rims down the line. For now, I think just some beefier tires...
Just ordered these yesterday! I still think, think having those openings is a smart move. You never know when you might run out of t-nuts!
When did you order yours? Just trying to see when mine might show up.
Nice! That looks awesome! I'm planning something like that too. Is your camera set up in a spot where the wipers move? I’ll see if I can flip my camera so I can get the cable closer to the pillar on the left side.
Have you thought about coiling that part of the cable that goes from the...
A few minutes seems kind of strange. Do you have that Start/Stop feature? I had a weird experience with another car when the dashcam acted up when connected to the ACC fuse, but everything was fine when I plugged it into the lighter. Once I turned off the Start/Stop thing, it worked perfectly...
That is a clean install! How is the recording? Is it wobbly when you are going over a rough road?
I've got an even crazier idea now, just to extend bit longer the power cable to reach the bare metal upper part of the door and stick the cam there. I guess I would have some extra cable dangling...
Try to find the fuse. If the wire is there, then it has to be wired to the fuse box. Maybe it is just missing a fuse for that feature (maybe it's the sunroof wiring), that is not available for your trim.
Thanks for confirming! What do you think about drilling a hole below the sealing (where there is no opening) and adding a grommet like this one, and pulling wires through? A half-inch top section should do the trick, and I can seal the cable coming out with Flex Seal or silicone.
The flexible...
I totally forgot that the cable has to come from somewhere! I was thinking about mounting it on the left clip (on the driver’s side), but then the cable would have to run from the middle clip.
Or I could put it on the right side and run the cable from the right pillar. Honestly, neither option...
I'm leaning more toward putting the camera on the driver's side since the headrest in the second row would probably block and hide it from view.
I’m also thinking about running the cable through to the trunk door. There’s already some wiring close to the center, so that seems like a good route...
I ended up narrowing it down to two choices, and I was leaning towards Westcott since my garage entrance is pretty low. But then I went ahead and ordered the Cali Raised one, which was supposed to be the tallest option. Turns out, after checking the reviews, it’s only half an inch taller than...
OMG I didn't think about that part... Looks like I ordered two different colors:
and this one:
I just saw in this post that the second one lights up blue when it's on. I have no clue what color the indicators are for the first one. I don't want to end up like a Christmas tree :(
For...
I did it! Can confirm this works! I got mine from here:
5Pin Connector Unsealed 0.7mm Male Female Connector Automobile Wiring Harness Sensor Cable Socket for Toyota 6098-3802 6098-3810
I picked up three pairs of connectors because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make a piggyback connector or just...
I never really noticed it until I was trying to put in a dashcam. That headliner is so cheap and poorly made, it's almost ridiculous. Honestly, I’ve never been in anything with such disappointing materials - unless you count a U-Haul!
I’ve got the TRD ORP, so no soft-touch stuff for me. I was...
