I would not worry too much about that.... I would take a LOT to do a hard drive on a 4R. The Electric motor is doing a lot more pull on the acceleration than you think. The Turbo does not stay in full boost very long.
As previously mentioned, the truck decides to shut the engine off pretty...
Yes definitely worth the investment in PPF, but that's not in the cards for me right now. I might do a hood front section and that's all the wallet has for now.
I plan on driving this thing everywhere and for MANY yeas.... so I was ok with the wear and tear happening from the start. No resale...
__UPDATE__
After a 1700 mile trip up into the Mountains here is the summary :
- truck was loaded w/ cooler, food, gear, 2 adults, a child, 2 large dogs and a roof cargo box :
-- Average tanks on highway 70-75 mph w/ crosswinds = 19.5 mpgs
-- Best tank driving dirt roads UP and DOWN (35 mph...
Nice to see a twin out in the wild! Good photos! Beware of rock chips on the rear door. I got a few on basic gravel roads up in Colorado and I do have the oem mudguards too.
I have a TH, so it has that extra wider track but the fenders are wider than TRD OR. Toyo tires. I'm pretty sure the rocks get launched from below not the side, meaning the mud guards are not long enough. Also the profile of the mud guards could be a bit wider too.. Tires are pretty flush with...
Hello 4Runner folks! BEWARE. I just got back from a 1700 mile trip to the Rockies and did a lot of gravel riding, so the result : LOTS of great memories and rock chips on rear fenders and rear doors.
Ok I do have the factory mud guards and did imagine rock chips down low, but these are WAY up...
Just got back from the Rockies and lots of dirt driving : Yes lots of dust in the cabin & I was rolling windows up mostly on dry, faster sections. I would keep a spare filter(s) if I did that very often.
Barely made it back to work, but checking the filters is on my priority to do list.
"normal" behavior... found out the hard way: window can be rolled down 1 mm and it will do it.....
Wish it had a few inches of forgiveness... I like to drive w/ the back window cracked in cooler days.
Currently not possible ???
Sorry off OP topic :
Not sure what's going on w/ your A/C. In Texas as well and keep mine 69-72F and It's plenty cold...
I can let it sit W/ engine off and the Compressor works it cold just fine as well. '
I'm beyond hot nature and sweat like a pig.....Texas summers are brutal and borderline...
2 things I did notice but were also (after later checking at the dealer ) on other units were :
-Rear spoiler has quite a bit of play. TRD ORP had it too.
-Air intake has some play as well. TH tacoma had it too.
I DO have the reverse brake squeal.... there is another thread on that subject...
So far to me the city MPG is not much EPA accurate. Even with a light foot on.
I know this might sound silly, but it seems to be more efficient to "launch" from a stop/roll to speed limit and then feather the throttle (35-45 speed limits) rather than slowly get to speed limit. All in city of...
