Did you do any suspension lift or modification to fit 285 70 18?
1.5 inch lift in the front using westcott collar and 2 inch lift in the back. btw my car is trd pro, the stock version was already lifted compared to other trims.

I have the same Pro...did you get any rubbing on these new (non-stock) tires?
No rubbing at all, but I lifted the car 1.5 in the front and 2 in the back. Not sure if it rubs for stock trd pro.

Wider tires arguably look better. How much snow you getting down there in New Mexico?
Northern New Mexico and Arizona can get a lot of snow every so often, but not as much as our neighbor Colorado to the north.

It seems most people choose their tires for looks.
No. This phenomenon is limited to a small subset of truck enthusiasts; you will never see the topic mentioned on a car forum. If you want to get harassed get on a sports car forum and ask which tires look best.
