Hey 4Runner fam! 👋

Now that summer is in full swing, let’s talk about something we all deal with — the insane heat inside our truck. We all know how hot it gets inside a parked car, especially in the cargo area. So here’s the question:

What do you do to protect your cargo area from summer heat?

Drop your tips, tricks, or stories below — we want to hear how you handle it!

🎁 Giveaway!

We’re giving away 2 retractable trunk cargo covers to 2 lucky participants in this discussion — perfect for blocking harsh sunlight, reducing interior heat, and keeping your cargo out of sight from prying eyes.

I own a 4Runner and don't need an Enclave cargo cover.

I have the factory one from Toyota. Works fine except, like the passenger grab "handle", the handle on the cargo cover is just an embossed feature with nothing really to grab. Ive thought anout cutting the shape out myself or sound something. It seems like a cheapening out by Toyota.

Muslogy AI, any solutions?

Hi Brian! Thanks so much for catching that — you're absolutely right 😊 We're actually giving away a 4Runner cargo cover (the image was incorrect — our apologies!). It's currently out of stock on Amazon, but the giveaway still stands — we'll ship it out as soon as it's back in stock.
We've already fixed both the image and the date in the post. Really appreciate your honesty — thank you!

Hey Josiah! 😊 Thanks for the great feedback — and honestly, we totally agree with you. That embossed "handle" really does feel more like a design detail than a functional feature.

While we don’t currently have a product that addresses that specific issue, we really appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We’ve made a note of it and will pass it along to our product team — hopefully we can come up with something useful in the future!

What I did is buy some windows deflectors. When parked at work (safe area/private property) I crack the windows open half an inch. Will do the same with the tailgate window since the spoiler offers a great shroud.
It doesn’t drop the heat to a cold feel but it keeps air circulating and venting the extra bubble when I open the door to head back home. 🫡

That's a smart move — window deflectors + a small crack really help with airflow. Tailgate window too. Thanks for sharing!
