Newbie here! Lots of questions!

Firstly, thanks for letting me join even though I don't yet have a 4Runner. I've been doing my due diligence and believe the 2026 TH is going to be the one I want. I do have some questions though:

2. What is everyone actually paying for these things and is Toyota financing any good? (Last new vehicle I bough was 2016 and APR's were anywhere from 0-2.9%)

I used these two threads to target my search for a dealership that had the trim & colors available I wanted. I live in Texas and didn't understand why all the dealerships had insane add-ons until I learned about the Gulf States and Southeast Toyota cartels driving up prices from here to Florida with fancy extras I don't need or want

Even with paying for shipping, that spreadsheet helped me find leads that would save me money over buying a car in Texas.

Full transparency, I ended up asking my dad to tap his network since he is retired but used to run a car dealership. He knew a guy who knew a guy, and this got me way better pricing than what I would've been able to pull off myself.

1. Are there any changes from the 25 to 26?
2. What is everyone actually paying for these things and is Toyota financing any good? (Last new vehicle I bough was 2016 and APR's were anywhere from 0-2.9%)
3. Are there any common issues, complaints or annoying things to take into consideration?
4. How much $$ should I set aside for mods/upgrades just to get it to be how it should be? (I've seen posts about small things like hood struts, etc)
5. Seems like removing the front air dam is a must, anything else that needs to be done right away?
6. Snokel, but hybrid? Anyone actually take these though higher water yet?
7. Is the included Toyota maintenance typically hassle-free? (I know it'll depend a lot on the dealership)

Well I will chime in with my two bits.

I would look at the things that you like about the 6th gen. Meaning do you need off-road capabilities?

Buying a lower trim model and spending thousands; and you will! to get it to a proper off-road vehicle you might as well go into an off-road trim package.

I use On X Offroad maps and the 14-in display is great for that, also camera functionality when you are going over Rocky terrain or tight quarters is very useful.

Lots to think about, but you can almost bet you're at some point going to replace tires and potentially Wheels. The truck comes with very capable tow hooks! So having a proper ditch bag with recovery gear is something to also think about. You don't necessarily need a winch and bumper if you have a strong enough Heavy duty Come-along.
And the list goes on!
