  1. Caps underneath rear seats

Related thread. Random 6G4R Observation of the day Highlighting my ignorance of something that is obvious once you notice it: the covers are two different sizes.
  2. Liftgate Light Installed - Easy DIY

Really disappointed that the 6G4R does not come with hatch lights except TrailHunter (and no evidence that the part is available or can be integrated into other trim's hatches.) So... I posted a similar solution as one of my very early posts to this forum. Idea is the same, your specific...
  3. What did you do to your 6th Gen 4Runner today?? 👨🏻‍🔧 🧰 🛠

Thanks for the idea! I have mine mounted ON the bumper just below and behind the license plate but I've had it hit snow piles on the trail. I think your solution is better and I'm going to look at doing it this weekend (along with repositioning the rear camera under the car and mounting the...
  4. Dog hammock for second row seats? Or removable options for rear cargo area?

Hmm. worked for me. Re-inserted link below using link tool. PROZAR Dog Car Seat Cover for Back Seat,
  5. Hybrid system failed - "System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer"

2025 4runner PDS Just scanned through and don't see any transmission checks
  6. Hybrid constant power with ignition off either under the hood or near aux switches.

If you are using the auxiliary switch for power I THINK it will power with vehicle in ACC mode (engine not running). Going to verify with my ditch lights tonight.
  7. Bigger Brakes

Hmm... what your describing seems a bit different than the well documented experience of folks on this forum (and the related TSC). The squeal predominantly happens in reverse when cold (e.g., in the morning after sitting overnight) - and tends to be more likely in humid environments. Not...
  8. Question about engine braking

That is NOT what I meant. The extra electrical energy that is generated by the engine braking is "dumped" in my lingo into some circuit where it dissipates as heat. My point was that nothing is "disabled" - the engine braking is still happening and the charging is still happening, but the...
  9. Bigger Brakes

JM: I've been tracking all the mods folks have talked about on this forum for 10 months since I started shopping for my 6G4R (bought TRD ORP in early May 2025) and I don't recall ever seeing anyone say that they have upgraded the brakes. Am curious why you believe the existing brakes are...
  10. Question about engine braking

Hmm.... I think you mean by "instantaneous MPG" the meter I have showing on the right - correct? This is a photo of an explicit example of hitting 8 bars after Hi4 on Ridge Road in Michaux State Forest in Central PA and then some more downhill on Rt. 233 after getting back into 2WD where this...
  11. Correct way to install TRD skid plate + transfer case skid?

Cool. Thanks. The mini-skid under the transfer case is steel but its not very thick (not as thick as the steel LC front and TH Trans skids I have). Adding a more significant skid seems prudent for serious rock crawling.
  12. Question about engine braking

I'm not sure exactly what is happening overall (although I have not noticed the pulsing and will pay more attention), but here is what I have experienced: I use the "standard mode" engine breaking on long downhills and I think the engine really does need to be engaged to obtain that braking...
  13. Correct way to install TRD skid plate + transfer case skid?

T_P: In another thread quoted below (from "Difference between hybrid and non-hybrid Transfer Case Skid Plate?" which Joe_Dirt started), I was having the similar confusion about transmission vs transfer case skit and I ended up taking a photo (see below) of my TRD ORP transfer case - which sits...
  14. Will these wheels / tires fit stock 2026 SR5 (or using a leveling lift kit 1.5-2 in)?

Wow. Everything that 4Everest said and a couple additional observations: Typical 285/55R20 (32.3") tires are actually .3" smaller diameter than the TRD OR stock 265/70R18 (32.6") and there is a lot of clearance around the stock tire so it MIGHT fit (with the caveat that the SR5 suspension...
