Ok, so here’s my 4Runner compared to other 2025 Off-Road Premiums using fuelly.com. My mileage is so bad that I am literally off the chart. I think I drive pretty moderate, it’s never stop and go traffic. Just trips to the store (2-5 miles surface) or golf (10 to 15 miles highway). I wish I could trade with someone getting 19 to 22 to see if it is really my driving that is so bad I only get 14.5 mpg when nearly everyone else is 19 to 22.

yeah your stats are way out in left field, i mean you are the only person below 15 mpg. are you doing full tank fill ups every time?

i mean the next person even close to you is 15.7 but they havent done a full fill up from what i can tell. all the entries have no mpg listed which usually means they didnt do a full fill up.

i do see a hybrid with 14.5 but from the entries it looks like they were doing off roading trips or most stop and go or low speed city runs. last 2 tanks were 17 and 18 mpg though.

only thing i can think right off the bat?

are you using eco mode all the time? i know on our 23 tundra non-hv, eco actually is worse for mpg than normal and sport (i actually tested full tanks vs the different modes)

and the stats dont look right, if you goto 2025 4R it says there is 28 loaded into fuelly, but if you do 4R hybrid there is 27 loaded. i thought there should have combined the 27 into the overall 2025 4Runner stats since i wanted all 2025 4runners.

Hi NoDak
Thanks for looking at this. Yes, I do complete fill-ups (Keep in spreadsheet) with the same 87 octane gas, at same Costco station using the same procedure each time e.g. wait 10 sec and give it another squeeze. The last fill-up was 91 octane so I’ll see if that makes any difference.
I run in standard mode. Almost everyone I see out there in google land is getting 19 to 22 in standard mode so I want to stay the same for now.
On Fuelly I’m only comparing the 4WD ORP to keep the 2WD SR5’s from skewing the average.
Not towing or hauling anything.
No rush hour traffic.
Standard Falken Wild Peak A/T 265/70R18 116T tires.

I’m taking it in tomorrow to have it looked at but I’m confident they will tell me there is nothing wrong with it.

with 3 fills ups i would agree.

after 5k miles and more fill ups then i would look into the avg then

as long as the tank avg goes up then flattens i really cant say if thats normal mpg of 14 mpg

I use the Fuelly app. 4357 miles recorded with it, 21.4 average MPG, best was 22.7, 30/70 city/highway. Always use top tier gas. 87 octane

Hi David. I'm using Fuelly now too. Did you track your mileage from the beginning? Did you notice it getting better over time? If so, what was it in the beginning? Thanks,
Also David

Hi, I think I had about 1K miles on the ORP before using Fuelly. I honestly dont remember what the average mpg was over the first 1K miles, but think it was 19 and change. Since using Fuelly its pretty consistent around 21 mpg +/- .5
