Just did a quick install on my 4Runner with a Bank CAI, simple job, perfect fit, no check engine lights. I have ran Banks Engineering products for years on my diesel trucks and have had no issue ever with their products. I will update later with driving impressions. Supposedly adds 18 hp and almost 18 ft/lbs torque according to website. It won’t pull up under 4Runner so will have to input Tacoma but it shows the 4Runner under the product.

I installed mine last weekend. I notice a little better throttle response. I attribute that to them moving the MAF closer to the throttle body. Gas mileage might be a little better. I don’t like that it’s made for a Tacoma. The fit is off. No rivet in the 4 o’clock position. I’ve called a couple times to inquire about that. They haven’t picked up.

Yes I did notice that one river was off but it’s secured enough I believe. I also noticed better response in the short drive I’ve made.

Nice! Wonder if it’s 50 state legal- here in California they don’t like modified parts on cars sadly

Banks is located in CA, check their website and I’m sure it will say. They are known to have 50 state legal compliance parts.

I've had numerous Diesel trucks that were modded with banks products. Currently have '19 Ram 4500 cab and chassis w/6.7 Cummins. Did their intake, air box, intercooler and after exhaust along with/PPEI Tune. The truck was an absolute Pig at purchase and the upgrades transformed it into the truck it should have been. I didn't delete as I'm DOT restricted. It pulls hard and the transmission shifts perfectly, plus had an increase in fuel economy. I'm sure they will have an upgrade for the stock intercooler and plumbing going forward for the new 4Runner. They're a good outfit to deal with and their products are tested prior to going to market

I was able to modify the original inlet to fill in the space. It will not allow me to secure the one corner. I might buy another. I think can redo that corner and conceal underneath. I would like to get a tighter fit.

Were you able to get a tighter fit with the Banks Power CAI?

So far it has not had any bearing on the performance of it but Banks did reach out and are sending me a piece they are working on now for the 4Runner for the perfect fit . When I get it in I will update post with photos.

I called two days in a row to inquire if one was in the works. Nobody picked up the phone

I reached out to Banks. They gave me a call and said the rivet that sits at about 4 o'clock for the radiator support cover is in the wrong position for our 4Runners at the moment. They are coming out with a revised model in the future that just replaced that rubber gasket piece and will accommodate the rivet location on the 4Runner. So this intake does work on the 4Runner and they will send a free one once the new one comes out.

Just installed my banks intake today and took about 20 min. I am looking for more of their products as they have a lot of experience with turbo engines. Definitely can hear the suction. The biggest change for me with the hybrid is that on straight roads I see the battery be used instead of the engine more now which saves gas.

Was able to install the banks boost pipes. First impression is that the boost kicks in sooner even in eco mode. So far so good no leaks and instructions were actually done really well by banks.
