Hi all -

In the Interior/Cargo Area Modifications forum, we have several different threads where folks have created their own storage/sleeper solutions or shared third party ones.

A third party option I came across not yet discussed was Colfax Campers:

https://www.colfaxcampers.com/product-page/platform-kit-6th-gen-toyota-4runner

Anyone have any experience with this brand, maybe in prior 4Runners?

Can't say I'd be excited to drop 1.2K (USD), but compared to other options such as BamBed (1K, but no drawers) or Air Down Gear Up (5K) - it seems to be the best bang for buck so far, in terms of pre builts.

(Best bang for buck would be building it myself, which I may do!).

Interesting option. I would be interested in no drawers, and without that they're still cheaper than BamBed. Unfortunately they don't have hybrids yet

I just got this system and had it installed last week. Went camping this past weekend and it was perfect solution for me. I couldn't build anything myself so seemed like the best 3rd party option available right now, plus I'm in Denver so it was a perk to go see the shop & products before making the purchase. Only one trip in, but I'm happy with it so far.

That's awesome! I would be thrilled for any/all thoughts you have - and maybe even pictures to see how it comes out (when built by not them).

No worries if not - but a few q's if I may:

1) How's the rattle when driving around?
2) Are there only two points of it being tied down?
3) The website says the sleeping platform is slightly angled up - how noticeable did you find that?

I created a post here with some pics https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...latform-installed-on-trd-orp-non-hybrid.5855/

To answer your questions: I haven't really noticed a rattle since it was installed. It's secured with 2 'L' brackets underneath to where the tie downs were (removed for install), and then two turn buckle bolts at the back that attach to the tie downs near the hatch. I added a luno mattress and could not tell there was any sort of incline for the sleeping platform once I laid down. The sleeping platform rests on the folded seat backs.
