Figuring out tire/wheels to get for 2025 4Runner Hybrid TRD Offroad Premium, no lift?

So I'm planning to swap out my tires for something to fill the 2025 4Runner a bit better. Right now I do not want to get a lift kit, but I am wondering if a 285/70/R17 set of tires will fit on some 17x8.5 wheels? And if I decide to go this size, is there a proper offset to go to ensure there is no rubbing? Any help would be appreciated!

pretty sure that size is definitely going to rub. You’ll need a level at the very least. Drop down a tire size and you should be able to clear, I think.

17x8.5 +25 is solid with 285/70R17 no rub slight poke great fit.
17x8+25 is super Solid with 285/70R17 no rub slight poke great fit.

Consider the OEPlus TT06 Wheels Perfect OEM fit with bore too.

I like the look of these, are the center caps replaceable though? Not a fan of that prominent red there...
