So if your 4Runner was on the list Saturday (VIN JTEVA5BR4S5017638) and now is not of the list does that mean the dealer is hiding it? Last I checked it was listed as Port to Dealer and the time window was 5/2-5/18 with an anticipated arrival at the dealer of 5/15 (Per a friend at Toyota).

Yes, the dealer considers it sold, so that it no longer appears on the Toyota search inventory website.

It shows up in the 4runner_2025_Sold.csv and the 4runner_ChangeHistory.csv

Nope. The salesman and Finance person weren’t aware of it. They were getting ready to send us over finance paperwork and we asked if we can quickly give them $500 to make sure no one else snatched the car while we worked on it. Salesman sent us over pictures of the car, sticker and everything.

We get a call about 20 minutes later and after talking to the “Guy upstairs” there was suddenly a $3995 market adjustment. I told them that wasn’t going to work for us, and they said maybe they could “meet us halfway” as if they were doing us a favor.

Told them we would take it for sticker right then and there, but not interested in paying a frivolous markup. They said they would ask again and let us know. Never heard back from them.
Update on this. The salesman texted me over the weekend and told me he lost his job because he texted me pictures of the car and sticker and talked to me. Not sure how accurate that is, but was a bit weird.

Also, sheet still shows it as No Markup, but it’s has at least $3995. Spoke to someone else who said they reached out and they were told almost $7k markup.

So the Toyota Search Inventory website probably has not been updated yet, or some how the dealer is hiding these adjusted prices (see Readme.txt for detail on how the selling price is arrived at)

This might’ve been asked before, but does anybody “in the know” know how often allocations come out? I’ve read twice a month, but is that for just for 4Runners in general or do all trims get allocations twice a month, its just the volume dealerships get more ?

We’ve custom ordered BMWs in our past and their process is pretty straightforward, where a dealership gets X amount of each model to do with as they please, but I know Toyota/Lexus essentially gives out models/trims and dealerships don’t really have much input on much other than occasionally options.0

Not sure what's going on but the direct links to the spreadsheets themselves is acting up. You can still access the all models link and then go down to the model and access it that way. I'm looking into this.

I think they do negotiate among themselves as I have seen once and a while in the spreadsheet (actually via the searchForVehicles application), A VIN x that was associated with dealer A, and a VIN y that was associated with dealer B, get swapped where VIN x is now associated with dealer B and VIN y is now associated with dealer A

But in your case you are saying a vehicle VIN never shows up on the list even though it is at the port. Possibly, in that case if the car has been spoken for then maybe sometimes it is completely hidden from the public Toyota inventory website so dealers don't get calls about it as it is essentially sold , as opposed to showing it as Pre-Sold?
The dealership called me yesterday. They are trading 4Runners with another dealership to get the one I put a deposit down for. It should arrive within 30 days.

Everything I have learned over the past weeks looking for a PRO is that they do allocations ever couple weeks, next one should be mid May. Usually on a Friday but the other day it came out late for the dealers I was chatting with in the mountain west area.

Yea - I've been told about every 3 weeks allocations come. The unfortunate part is there is no guarantee that each batch will have certain quantities of specific trims, etc.

We would jump on this if it was closer, but we're looking at +/- $3000 by the time we travel and ship, etc. With our work schedules right now, it would be a lot to ask and we can wait a bit longer.

When allocations are released in the first and third week of every month, it's not just for 4Runners, but for all Toyota models.

Once I get another month or two of runs, I should also be able to have some decent statistics by using the FirstAddedDate, but using just Temp VINS I have now, I get the following from current 4runner inventory and 2025 Sold 4 runner inventory using FirstAddedDate and Temp VINs only (which seem to confirm what Trailhunter4R indicated)

current 4 runner inventory (from 4/8/2025 to 5/7/2025)

Sold 4runner inventory from same dates
