I have read the paperwork that came with the truck (limited gas). Nothing mentioned.
I am trying to determine if this truck has ANC.
Can someone point me to a specific area or setting that shows this feature.
I am not sure if it is standard on some models or always an option.
I assume I don't have it but but cannot be sure.

Also I have read that the jbl system has surround sound but that is also an elusive setting on my truck.

Thanks

Not sure about ANC, however I did some research on the surround technology JBL calls "Quantum Logic Surround Sound."

Turns out 4Runners and Tacos don't get the surround processing tech. It's a little misleading because if you go to the JBL x Toyota collaboration page on JBL's website, their advertising makes it seem like EVERY Toyota model that has a JBL system gets that feature. This is not the case.

I looked at their press release PDF, and only the following models get the surround processing tech:

-Tundra
-Sequoia
-Mirai
-Sienna
-Highlander Hybrid
-Grand Highlander Hybrid
- LANDCRUISER

Why Toyota decided to give the Landcruiser this option and not the 4Runner/Taco is beyond me.

You need to hook up to the OBD II port to read that setting. I used the Carista adapter to turn that off and the fake engine noises. Your dealer can do it for a charge if you don't want to deal with Carista or something similar. Going to guess the limited with the JBL will have it on by default.

OK Thanks.
Cabin Road noise is louder on a wet highway than dry. Thought i would check out that feature but guess not.

On the other surround sound question the manual helped a lot with a * - "if equipped" 😵💫

I doubt you'd notice any benefit from ANC for wet tire noise. ANC only works for very low frequencies in cars, for example at 50 hz the wavelength is 20 feet so the system can use a feedback microphone to cancel and it works even though the feedback microphone isn't close to your ear (like it is with ANC headphones). Wet tire noise is much higher frequency so for example at 1000 hz the wavelength is only 1 foot so unless the feedback microphone is much closer to your ear (and your passengers' ears) than 1 foot, it can't add out of phase sound to cancel since it might amplify the sound depending on where you are sitting.

I don't think you're missing out on much.

Thx - I agree on not missing out on much. Mostly still fiddling with things after 4 1/2 months.
I will probably still be saying that in 3 years.
My big thing in the discovery process will be getting under it. That and the drive system are where that truck really stands out.
Might be June the way this winter is going though.
