The main support for trghe ceiling attic net comes from the C & D pillars. We use beefy steel anchor plates. The OEM hook with it's spring clip wouldn't hold a lot of weight on it's own. Interestly enough the spring clips was support the passengler overhead grab handles on the previous generation. This back D ring connection to the OEM hook really just raises the ceiling net up out of the way for good rear window vision when unloaded or lightl, normally carried loads, jackets etc.

Bought your nets for my '99 Wrangler and they have been great. Quality materials and fabrication. I do wish the friction clamps opened up a bit more to allow the material to pass through, but a needle nose pliers works just file.
These have been great for keeping the dogs contained when the Jeep top is off. Looking into the barrier net for sure on my 4Runner.

Appreciate that! I think if you get one for the Runner, you’ll like it more. We did update the cambuckles awhile back and if you feed the tapered strap end from the back, flat side, it should slide in and lock tight very easily.
