Westcott Designs Level Kit options (is the 1/2" spacer absolutely required?)

I'm noticing the Wesctcott Designs kit comes in a 3 piece set (2" preload collar for the front, 1/2" spacer for the front, and .75" for the rear). My only complaint with Westcott is that it looks completely level, and sometimes even a reverse rake if the rear is loaded down. I think removing the 1/2" spacer from the equation would make it perfect, but I don't know if the system is designed with that option, or if the 1/2" spacer is required for the kit to function. I like the look of an ever so slight rake that doesn't turn into a negative rake if weighed down in the back.
