Got a 8 year old so the last few months he was able to get in and out without it but I figured i'll get either a running board or rock sliders for easier accessibility. Short people problems. Another benefit is protect against sedan/coupe non tall car accidental door dings.

The CBI I have my eye on is just darn expensive + $300 shipping! So i settle with a generic EBAY running board that another thread on here mention works.

I can confirm it works! I received it and installed in on 6th gen TRD SPORT. The bolts on the frames are reusable. Uses 12mm sockets for the running board and under carriage bolts.

This is what I purchased. Land Cruiser running boards. Like the other person mention. Go US reseller/shipper in case there's problems. Mine came well packaged in a single box with foam on both ends. Ordered July 1st. Received today on the 5th. It's factions the cost and huge savings in the pocket for now. I might in the distant future get higher quality when there's more options.

The steel brackets fits exactly. No extra adjustments. No extra drilling. It's ABS top over aluminum frame with bottom exposed. I do not have idea how OEM running boards look.

So, the 2024/2025 Land Cruiser body is exactly the same as 2025 4Runner.

We picked a set of these up locally from FB Marketplace for our SR5. They look good but the functionality is just okay. Really we could have just gone without the boards completely, but they do offer some protection from door dings from other cars and potentially from rock chips being thrown up by the tires.
As for ease of in-and out, not so much.

Just bought these exact same ones after your recommendation... thanks! Did you need any specific tools to tighten bolts ?

Unfortunately there's NO instructions. So this is what I did:
I ended up only using the same breaker bar. I think a regular socket wrench will work. The bolts have washers on them so it looks doable.

I got from Harbor Freight (https://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-drive-18-in-breaker-bar-60818.html)

You may need an adapter depending if you have a 3/8 or 1/2 in. drive. (https://www.harborfreight.com/high-visibility-socket-adapter-set-4-piece-62851.html)

Good to have but not needed, 2" or 3" Socket extension (step 9)

1) The metal brackets are numbered 1, 2, 3. 1 going towards the front of the vehicle. You can't go wrong as it's molded for the frame.
2) Preinstalled the washer and colored bolt. (Shorter of the two bolts)
3) 4RUnner is tall enough so i slide underneath it with a moving blanket laid down first.
4) Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey.
5) Removed the exact placement bolts under the car. I think they were like 26.5" apart. you can double check by measuring the space between holes on the running boards. There are two extra bolts near the center that you do not need to remove.
6) Keep bolts right under where you needed it so you do not need to search for it.
7) Board is light. Lay board on lap. Lay down. Slide underneath. Align and hand screw 1 per bracket then go back for the second.
8) Wiggle the board as there's most likely gap and continue to hand tighten.
9) Once you can't hand tighten. I used the socket bar until it is snug.
10) When it feels snug. I did another 1/4 turn to finish off.

Note: I don't have a torque spec.

Note 2: Maybe a loctite for the board side not under the car. I didn't have one and was too antsy. Pre stage it to make sure the board and brackets are correct before applying loctite to the bolts.

Hope this helps.

Are these running boards pretty sturdy or do the flex when you step on them? They look great. Been having trouble finding many running board options for my 2025 4 runner. Looks like a good option.

No obvious flex at 170lbs when stepping in between the brackets. Keep in mind, this board is NOT aluminum edge to edge.
