Retractable Cargo Cover from 5th gen compatible?

Does anyone know if the 5th retractable cover will fit/work in the 6th gen?
I’m expecting take delivery of my 2026 Limited next week and reading on this forum how crappy the OEM cover is for the 6th gen I thought maybe I should hang onto the 5th gen one I have now to use in my new ride before I trade it in.

The 5th Gen is slightly shorter than the 6th Gen cover where it clips in behind the seats and will definitely not fit without a homemade fix. I did not try the fit with it extended out.
Found a 6th Gen cover from an auction site, but the retract mechanism is broken (what do you want for less than $2). I've yet to take it apart to see if it can be fixed or if I can scavenge parts from the 5th Gen cover.

Maybe I’ll just hang onto the 5th gen cover anyway. It’s not like the dealer will lower their already obscenely low trade-in offer if I hold it back.
Better to have it and it doesn’t work, than not.

Yeah, it will not affect their number, they could care less about extras.
I took out all the aftermarket liners, inserts and covers before I traded my 5th Gen in. Most of it I gave away to other 5th Gen owners.
The dealership got enough out of me already.
