I am having PPF installed on the front of my 4Runner , and I inquired about having them do the fender flares. I was told it does not stick to plastic.

I’ve seen some posts on here with people wrapping them is their differences or something I should be asking for specifically.

I'm curious about this as well. It's definitely doable on the TRD Pro with the glossy flares, but I wonder how one would go about protecting the matte flares

I’m not sure how much the OEM matte plastic fenders cost but it may be cheaper just to replace them if they actually get damaged. I feel like the PPF is mostly to protect the paint so it may be kind of pointless on the plastic ones.

The difference between the wrap and the PPF is the wrap will change/match the color or pattern and the PPF protects the paint.

good point, thanks! and I guess there are no issues with color matching, etc. since it's just plastic. That makes sense!

Man, those plastic fender flares on the off-road, premium scratch so easy. I’ve already scratched a couple with just my fingernail by accident.
