Ive been in the market for a skid plate that is an upgrade over the plastic ones from the factory. Got a great deal on the Lexland skid plate for $180. I didnt want a full thick steel skid plate because of balancing weight with the fact that this thing will never be a rock crawler, and I am thoroughly pleased with the decision. Installation took 10 minutes including removal of the old one. Looks great and I feel much more protected now that I got rid of that plastic junk.

I just received mine today but cant figure out how to install it. It came with some extra hardware/brackets but no instructions. Do you mind sharing how to install it?

Yeah so the brackets mount to your frame where the original skid plate did. You mount those brackets with the "angled" part facing forwards and up to run in line with the skid plate itself. The skid plate then mounts to those brackets once theyre in place. The rear mounts line up with the stock holes, no brackets.

Thanks! I will try that in the morning. What did you do with the hardware? Did you use the original bolts or the ones that came with the skid plate? If you used the original bolts, did you use the black washers that came with the skid plate? Thanks again.

I did use the black washers. I kept the original bolts in the rear mounts, and used the new hardware is at the front mount because I like the idea of the smooth head more than the jagged bolt in case of getting caught on things. It looks sleeker as well.

Ok, I finally got it installed. I noticed the bolts for the back of the plate dont screw in where the stock plate screws in. I had to unbolt the front of the middle skid plate. So the back of the skid plate shares the same holes as the front of the skid plate in the middle. Is this what you did? Thanks again.

Yes, sorry I worded that previous reply wrong. It uses the same mounting position as the front of your mid skid plate.

Two questions for ya.

1. Does it cover the oil pan?

2. The website says it's made out of "metal material". Is it aluminum or steel?

Thanks! 👍

No, it stops before it gets to the oil pan. It has a quick access cover for the oil filter, but if you want an oil pan skid, you'll have to get a separate one.

It is made out of steel.
