defrost option forces outside air
if your recirc is changing from inside to outside automatically
but not in defrost mode, choose recirc but then hold the button
down for a few seconds, that should make it stay on recirc
and stop it deciding for you (this works on 2 of my toyotas)
if I just choose recirc quickly... system often will change on me in a few
minutes and go back to outside air to reduce internal humidity
