Fog lights questions! Function and upgrades

I replaced the stock driving lights with the Baja Designs fog light kit. It works great. I don't see a real problem with the fog light going off when the hi beams are on. My understanding is that high beams may hurt you dust/fog vision due to glare. Have on the regular beam and fog light will give you the best visibility in dust or fog. But I'm not an engineer, I just read that somewhere.
