Electronic settings issues - seat adjustment, air conditioner, etc.

I have a 2026 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium. Since day one, I've had issues with the electronic presets you can establish in the personalized settings. Right now when power is turned off, the seat does not slide back and the steering wheel doesn't move up and in to allow easy exit. If I move it manually when getting out, when started, the seat doesn't return to my normal settings either, but it will return if I push the Seat 1 button. I've followed the instructions to reset the system but it has not impact. I've checked all the settings and they are in the proper position.

My air conditioner settings are set to have it turn on automatically, but even if the air is on when the car is turned off, every time I turn the car on the air conditioner is off and I have to hit the air button/tab to turn it on. Again, I've checked the settings and tried the stuff AI suggests but to no avail.

Any thoughts?

I turned off my automatic seat movement when car is turned off because I didn't like it. My driver seat just stays where I have left it set, but I also have it programmed as seat setting #1, for the times I have changed the seat and I want to put it back to #1.

On my ORP, If I don't have the heat/cool controls in Auto, it will remember your fan settings, but the A/C light is always off until I turn the A/C back on with the A/C switch and then the green light above it goes back on. If the heat/cool is on Auto, then if will always go back to the last Auto temp setting. Note: the A/C light never goes on when in Auto. Does that make sense?

The 2025 4Runner offers multiple ways to adjust seating comfort with available power front seats and driver memory presets. Whether you're tackling long road trips or hopping in after another driver, here's how to fine-tune and save your seat settings.
Power Seat Adjustments (pg. 151)
Adjustments vary slightly by trim, but most 4Runners with power seats include the following controls located on the side of the seat:

• Seat Slide: Moves seat forward/backward
• Seat Height & Tilt: Raises or lowers the seat and tilts the front edge for leg support
• Seatback Angle: Reclines or straightens the backrest
• Lumbar Support: Expands or contracts lumbar cushion to support lower back
• Vertical Adjust (Driver’s Seat Only): Controls total seat height

Make all adjustments while the vehicle is stopped. Avoid pressing multiple seat switches at once.
Seat Position Memory System (pg. 186)
Some trims offer a memory function that stores preferred settings for two drivers. It saves:

• Driver seat position
• Steering wheel position (if equipped with power tilt/telescoping)
• Outside mirror angle

To set memory:

1. Turn the engine switch to ON
2. Adjust seat, mirror, and steering positions
3. Press and hold the “SET” button, then press memory button “1” or “2” until the system chimes

To recall:
Press the desired memory button while the door is open or the brake is pressed

Memory-linked settings can also be paired with specific smart keys so the vehicle auto-adjusts when unlocked.

You said you checked all the settings. Does that included the following:

How to Enable Seat Return & Easy Access Settings

1. • Access Infotainment Settings: On your center touchscreen, go to Settings > Vehicle Customize (or Vehicle Settings). [1, 2]
   • Navigate to Boarding & Exit: Look for Boarding & Exit or the seat and comfort options. [1, 2]
   • Toggle Seat Return On: Enable the option that controls seat retraction upon exiting and returning upon starting or entering the vehicle. [1, 2]

I have the exact same problem, this is next on my list to address.

When I got my 4R a year ago, the steering wheel moved fine and was consistent with the settings I selected, but I had trouble with the driver seat. There is a calibration process for the seat that should be completed by the dealer during the PDI & prep process before they are sold.

Once I completed the calibration process my seat has worked fine and moves consistent with the option I have selected. This may help:
