Donut Spare swap to Full Size question.

Yes it goes the other way.

Full size goes the same way the donut was (I hope they did not ship yours with the donut facing down like this!). Flip it over, It's damaging the face right now.

It's a shame too. On the one hand, face-up it protects the face from sh** from the road, but if it were face-down you could store a lot of stuff inside the wheel out of the way yet still on the vehicle. I would love to keep the tow hitch in there.

It's just a spare wheel I got off eBay. I'll flip it.

That would be a great mod if someone made a round storage box to go inside there to store things. Of course it only works with the wheel upside down.

I think some trim levels might have a full size but generally it's a smaller narrower wheel and smaller tire.
But you can fit a full size in the spot.

Our 25 Tacoma SR5 came with a full size spare as an option for $80. It's basically a Michellin Street tire like the LTXs mounted on a steel rim. Sadly there are no factory options availablke for the 25 4Runner SR5 where as the Tacoma has three different factory options to choose from. They are built in different countries though, so maybe that's the deal.

Same. Found a matching wheel on ebay for 189 shipped, got another one of the same continentals I had put on all the others, had a local independant tire shop mount it for $25. But I forgot to get a tpms for it. I thought I didn't want one but then later I thought it would be good to rotate the 5th wheel as part of periodic rotations, and then it wants a tpms.

Off road premium includes a full size spare with matching 18” rim. I just confirmed it on mine when I mounted a matching, larger sized spare 275/70/18 tire. I’m planning to try a 5 wheel rotation.

There was also a secondary foam piece that protects the face of the wheel when I dropped mine down.
