So I've done some short trips and know that I can leave the car in ready mode and run the AC off the hybrid battery, works great when I'm catching some sleep at a trail before heading out for a run. However, I have an upcoming trip and I will have access to power. Is there a way I can connect a charger to keep the battery charged while I run the AC overnight so that the engine doesn't have to cycle on and off? I know, I could just pitch a tent and drag along my portable AC, but I don't want to make space for all that extra equipment.

you might want to get a different vehicle. the 4runner is not built to do what you are doing to it.

good way to ruin the battery pack prematurely and that doesnt fall under normal usage for a battery pack.

It cycles off to protect the batteries

Your truck is not designed to have AC running while the engine is off
