I completely agree with the concern about how the running boards are attached to the body. We removed them from our 4th gen after catching the end on something and bending it. I like the idea of having some protection there but would prefer it to be a couple of inches tighter to the body compared to the OEM running boards. That is why the Trail Edition sliders look attractive as they bend upwards and look tighter to the body and are less likely to hit your leg stepping out.

Once ski season ends, I will probably take the running boards off and see how I like it. I have the same wheels and tire size as you, but I have the Cooper ATs, so your pics are helpful. Thanks again.

To all the CaliRaised Trail Edition Rockslider owners. This question is for you. I know the website says the trail edition is not intended for use for stepping. But, can you actually use it as a step climbing in and out of the 4Runner? TIA!

Had you considered the Sliders from CBI? They're about $200 more than the one ones you installed. What was the tipping factor why you chose the Cali Raised?

Good question Mother Goose, similar but different products.... CBI doesn't offer a "trail" rock slider there's are more of the step version but without a kickoff making it less practical IMO if you're putting anything up on the roof. They are both DOM tubing. Not sure on CBI lead time I'm pretty sure cali raised has them in stock, I couldn't find a mention on lead times. Cali Raised has more options. Shipping is included in the Cali Raised price... not so on the CBI. Cali Raised is a 2 year warranty, CBI Is lifetime.

I recently went with Cali Raised they are local in Texas so I went by their location to pick them up and they were cool enough to give me a tour of everything. One of their main engineers use to be with CBI as well. I will say I was super impressed with how the pack the rock rails.

Nice rocksliders! Question! Did you have problems with any wirings inside the framing? I’m hearing problems with the Hybrid models regarding rocksliders install.

I just installed mine. No issues at all. But I have the pre threaded holes.
